Over the years I have “tried” different morning practices and I have come to the conclusion to live my best life I need morning routines. Today I would like to talk to you about my morning routines. About what they mean to me and how they have changed my mindset and life.
I can feel it in my body
These are my anchors, my rocks, my safe ground. Whenever I skip those in the morning, I will miss that for the rest of my day. Or even worse, I feel it within my body and notice my emotions are different. Perhaps not always that strong the first day but definitely after a couple of days. I more easily start doubting myself, fears are coming around easier and judgment towards myself or others is easier made. Or I am living more in the past and worrying about the future. I want to be living in the moment with this grand vision for myself. Also for my family, my business, and using these morning routines help me tremendously.
Ritual 1
Stop using your electronic devices as soon as you wake up, and with that, I mean laptop/phones/tablets etc., your email/message can wait too. After waking up, you are completely open to energies from outside yourself. So opening all these electronic devices will set the tone for the rest of your day. When you start to wait to read/listen to your messages you will be able to prepare yourself for a great day.
Social media, emails, mobile phones, etc are amazing BUT if I look at myself, it can easily take the overhand. And I feel completely overwhelmed by this. It has become our new normal to be “available” 24/7. Realising this I felt the need to set boundaries to protect myself. I bought an old fashion alarm clock again because I was using my phone to set my alarm. Now waking up I not only turned off my alarm but I started to read all these messages. And I can tell you how they influenced my day. Remind yourself that you are doing this to set the right intention for this day/week/year etc.
Ritual 2
Before even stepping out of bed, think about what you would like to experience that day. What kind of day would you want it to be, think about what you are going to do, how you can incorporate that emotion in it, and let your day be one with ease. Whether it is a meeting, some traveling, a specific task, etc.
Ritual 3
I always grab a coffee and a glass of water and start writing in my journey, the first 2/3 pages of what I have going on in my mind. Things as simple as going for that meeting and I have to bring this… or I have to do my laundry and pick up some groceries etc. These help you to quiet your mind and then you can listen to the real messages. Write down where you want to go or use this time to visualise how it looks like but most important how it FEELS. And stay in this feeling for at least 68 seconds.
Ritual 4
Make a list of maximum 5 things you want to have done today. Ask the Universe to do her part and even create a list for the Universe too. I used to create these endless to-do lists and when I finished 1 thing, I had added at least 2 new ones. So you can imagine this gave me more often a feeling of overwhelm rather than relief. By writing down a maximum 5 things I WILL do today it and finish, gives me a feeling of contentment.
Ritual 5
Using my essential oils and crystals. Once I have set my intention for the day, I love to use my crystals and essential oils to support this intention. I either feel which crystal and oil resonate most with me for that particular day or I choose by the knowledge I have gained over the years. These 2 things will help me to manifest with ease.
NOW MAKE YOUR OWN
Here are some of my rituals on how I start my day. You can set yourself up to create your own too. Feel what fits the most with you. Do you have rituals too? Or do you just let the day overcome you? If not, try some of these and see which feels good for you.
