Halloween
Are we too scared to show our true identity and hiding behind wearing a mask? Currently, I am in the States at my hotel in Boston. It is the end of October and it is Halloween, lots of people dressed themselves up. Some to become that person they admire, or to be that superhero for the day, they all looked amazing! I couldn’t help myself asking the question: What mask are we wearing in our daily life? Don’t you think there are a lot of people hiding behind their masks? That includes me too. We are hiding our struggles, fears or pains, and we pretend that everything is all right and feel lonely. And often too afraid to ask for help. Or too scared to show who we really are and what we really feel?
Transform Your Pain and Fears
Me too, I have been hiding behind my own mask and to be completely honest, I sometimes want to wear a mask because I feel very vulnerable. Over the past years, I’ve learned that from the moment I started to ask for help things change. This is the moment you start to transform your own pain and fears. We need coaches in our lives to transform our own pains and fears.
Why I was very familiar with hiring a coach at a young age. I think if you want to master anything else you hire a coach. Think about if you want to master tennis, yoga, pilates etc. Except for our inner self, we find it hard to ask for help in the form of a coach.
Love Yourself
Are you willing, and/or are you ready to take your mask off? You can do this step by step or radically, depending on your pace. Being your authentic self is something that we owe to ourselves. Of course, this will go hand in hand with forgiving yourself and really love yourself. Find someone that you feel good about. Your gut feeling will exactly tell you if you want to work with someone yes or no.
Start asking yourself what is it that I am not showing to the other? Make that first move and the Universe will make huge steps toward you. Key thing is that it will always start with a decision you make. So what will you decide today?
Love,
